About Winters, CA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Winters is a small, albeit fascinating city in Yolo County, California. Located at a convenient distance of roughly 60 miles from San Francisco and 30 miles from Sacramento, it makes for an ideal base town, proximal yet separate from the busy, crowded tourist centers of the region. In fact, the town offers day-trips to the surrounding tourist hubs, though Winters itself, has many delightful entertainment options to offer.
The city of Winters is home to a great natural landscape and lovely, balanced climate. The summers are dry and warm, while the winters are mildly cool and wet. It is thus, a fertile region and the scenic beauty allows for various kinds of outdoor recreation. The Lake Solano Park is a famous reservoir on Putah Creek where visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, boating, biking, fly fishing and wildlife observation. Also, given the topography and location of Winters, biking in and around town may be quite a pleasure. Other than nature exploration, delving into Winters’ history can also rather invigorating; Its’ Main Street District Center has been officially designated as a site of historical significance. A stroll along the boulevard exposes one to several historic buildings and landmarks such as the Railroad Bridge, Hotel DeVilbiss, Humphrey Building, the Yolo-Solano Bridge, so on and so forth.
The rich history of Winters’, however, has been preserved more ostensibly through its culture and not these sites. The city and its people believe in hospitality, leisure and merriment. The Winters’ Theatre Company is an organized group that meets the local and tourist demand for dramatic/musical performances. It typically puts up four productions each season (November – August) and these draw in visitors from surrounding townships of the Yolo and Solano County as well.
